Carolyn Corless
General Manager

Carolyn started working with Bluebird Care in October 2008 and has worked in every position within the company throughout its rapid growth. Carolyn currently manages a large team of staff in Galway and she is fully committed to delivering an excellent service to all our customers.

Carolyn says

Since becoming the General Manager here in Galway I have a daily opportunity to interact with both customers and staff which is something that gives me great pleasure. My role also gives me an excellent opportunity to put all the management skills that I have developed over the years to good use while helping many people in the community.

Kasia Klimczak
Co-ordinator

Kasia is a Care Coordinator with Bluebird Care for the past 3 years, she started her Bluebird Care career as a Healthcare Assistant providing home care for our customers keeping them safe and well in their own homes.

Kasia is a shining example of a person who started her Bluebird Care journey as a Healthcare Assistant and then took advantage of an internal promotion opportunity and is now part of the management team.

Bluebird Care is a great company to work with no matter what your role involves and I have made many good friends over the years since joining the company

Katherine McGinty
Clinical Lead

Katherine is our Clinical Lead, her role involves Assessing, Reviewing and Care planning for our customers. Katherine’s focus is to ensure the needs of our customers are met professionally on a daily basis and for providing Clinical Leadership to all the management team and staff at Bluebird Care Galway.  Also, part of her role is the Training and Supervision of Health Care Assistants who deliver our Care Services on a daily basis and she continuously reviews the quality of this service to ensure our Customers get the help and support they need.

Following her training Katherine became a Registered Nurse in 1995.  She obtained a B.Sc. in Community Nursing in 2004.  Katherine says, “In my career to date I have gained a wide range of knowledge and experience from Acute Services to different aspects of Community Services, which has ranged from long term care to home care nursing in addition I have completed QQI awards in Management and Moving & Handling instruction”.

Furthermore, Katherine states “It is a privilege to be invited into our customers’ homes, especially when they are at their most vulnerable.  It is important to me that our customers know that they are very much a key part of our community, and that they are valued.  To know on a day-to-day basis the work we do and the care we provide makes a such difference to our customers lives”.  

For Katherine, the following sums up the importance of Home Care:

Martina Molloy
Office Manager

Following the completion of a QQI business course, Martina was employed with a large construction company in an office manager/PA role for 6 years. During her time with the company she undertook a ACCA certified accounting technician course. Martina continued on to have 4 years’ experience working in an administration role in a busy Insurance brokers where she undertook the required insurance exams with in the Insurance Institute of Ireland.

From her experience in the front office of both companies, meeting with the general public daily, raised her interest in working with people as did caring in the home for a family member.

Martina’s first introduction to Bluebird Care was witnessing first hand the important work healthcare assistants carry out in community when her own family member started receiving home help. Seeing how these healthcare assistants enriched her grandmothers final years made Martina think this was a career path she wanted to pursue. Following a successful interview, Martina started her career with Bluebird care Galway in September 2012 as a Healthcare assistant and is now Office Manager. Martina states

It is a privilege to be invited into our clients lives, and to help them remain independent in their own homes. Every day is different and I love how rewarding and varied our work is. I honestly can't imagine doing anything better!

Nicki Roche
Care Manager

Nicki Roche is the Care Manager for Bluebird Care Galway, she says about her job “I have personal experience from a young age of seeing how important support is to an individual & a family. This had a huge impact on my life & since then I have always felt compelled to help & support other people.

I qualified in 2011 with an Honour Degree in Social Care Practice from Athlone Institute of Technology.

I had worked with young persons in Residential Care & with Students in the Access & Disability services.  I joined Bluebird Care in 2017 as a Social Care Practitioner as I wanted to work with people in the community.

I thoroughly enjoy my job. It is deeply rewarding to see the positive impact of supporting clients in the community & the dedicated staff who provide the care.

My current job in Bluebird Care is very busy and dynamic but it’s also a highly rewarding role. It is a role with a lot of responsibility & I am dedicated to doing my very best for each client in our care & for every staff member.  I am driven by my passion for wanting the best for people & this pushes me to do my best.

I love interacting with our clients and listening to their amazing life stories & adventures. I love the satisfaction of supporting a client or staff member with something whether it be small or big, and seeing the difference it makes.  I love the comrade between all the staff & commitment to deliver the best care we can. I feel truly blessed to the Care Manager for Bluebird Care in Galway”.

Rachel Barrett

Rachel joined Bluebird Care as a Healthcare Assistant in 2011 and has worked with the company while going through different changes in her life and she says, “Bluebird Care were always very facilitating when I needed it which helped me meet both my personal and professional challenges along the way”.

Rachel describes herself as a “very colourful carer” as that’s the personality she brings to her work every day bringing a smile to both her clients and colleagues alike. Since joining the company Rachel has moved from delivering Homecare to our customers to joining the management team in our Galway city office. 

Since joining our team Rachel says “I has found a good work life balance here at Bluebird Care and I love working alongside my great colleagues every day”.

I really enjoy the daily challenges my current job throws at me which I find challenges me in a good way and makes this job both very interesting and fulfilling
