You won’t be starting alone. Before you visit anyone on your own, you will be introduced to your clients, with a Care Manager you can call whenever you need support.

Bluebird Care is looking for Healthcare Assistants / Homecare Assistants in New Ross and the surrounding areas.


About the role

You will travel between clients’ homes in your local area and help people live safely and independently at home. A typical visit lasts around an hour, one client at a time, following each client’s personalised care plan.


What your day involves

  • Personal care, including washing and dressing
  • Medication prompts and reminders
  • Meal preparation and light housework
  • Mobility support and companionship
  • Noticing and reporting changes in a client’s wellbeing


What you get

  • Enhanced pay from €14.15 to €16.00 per hour, based on your experience and QQI qualifications
  • Paid travel time and mileage between clients during your shift, equivalent to 48c per mile
  • Introductions to your clients before you visit on your own
  • Ongoing training, including manual handling, infection control, safeguarding and medication awareness
  • A direct line to your Care Manager, and on-call support out of hours


Hours

  •  Flexible full and part-time Available
  • The busiest care windows are 8am to 12pm and 4pm to 8pm
  • Work Every second weekend, with every other weekend off
  • Full-time is four weekdays a week with one fixed weekday off, and never more than six days in a row unless you ask for it
  • Your roster is built around the availability you commit to, then kept consistent


Requirements

  • QQI Level 5 in Care of the Elderly and Care Skills, or willing to complete it with support
  • Full driving licence and own car
  • Based in or near New Ross, County Wexford
  • Legal right to work in Ireland. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role
  • Strong written and spoken English
