Care Supervisor

Location: Sligo

Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm -

One Saturday a Month - On Call

Salary: €35,000 per annum

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Care Supervisor to join our team in a full-time role covering the Sligo area.

This is a key role within our home care service, supporting and developing our team of Health and Social Care Assistants while ensuring clients receive safe, high-quality and person-centred care in their own homes.

You will work closely with Care Assistants, clients, families, Care Managers, Clinical Leads and senior management to maintain excellent standards of care and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular care supervision visits in clients' homes and across various practice settings.
• Mentor, support and develop Health and Social Care Assistants through supervision, guidance and feedback.
• Participate in care activities as part of the supervision and quality-assurance process.
• Develop, review and monitor client care and support plans, ensuring they reflect individual care needs.
• Assess risk assessments, care plans and relevant documentation, following up with the Care Manager or Clinical Lead where required.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date supervision and client records.
• Support new client case setups and ensure appropriate care arrangements are in place.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, families and Care Assistants.
• Ensure care delivery meets HSE, HCCI, ISO, franchise and company standards.
• Identify training and development needs and support staff to deliver best-practice, person-centred care.
• Report and consult with senior management regarding clinical or care-related concerns.
• Organise workloads effectively and respond appropriately to changing client needs and emergencies.

Essential Requirements

• QQI/FETAC Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare/Health Care Skills or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in home care, healthcare or a related senior care role.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good computer literacy and administrative skills.
• Experience in person-centred care and care planning.
• Ability to assess care plans, risk assessments and relevant records.
• Full clean driving licence.
• Current Moving & Handling certification.

Desirable:

• QQI Level 6 Supervisory Management qualification.
• Previous experience supervising Care Assistants or social care services.
• Experience in quality assurance and working within HSE, HCCI or ISO standards.
