Healthcare Assistant – Enniscorthy & Surrounding Areas

€14.15 – €16.00 per hour | Mileage & Travel Time Paid at 48c Per Mile | 5 to 35 Hours a Week

Bluebird Care is recruiting Healthcare Assistants across Enniscorthy and the surrounding areas. This is community-based care, supporting people in the comfort of their own homes — with a schedule built around your availability and real support just a phone call away.

What the Role Involves

You'll support people one-to-one with:

• Personal care (bathing, dressing, toileting)
• Preparing light meals and helping with day-to-day routines
• Providing company and reassurance
• Assisting with safe movement around the home

You're not rushing between clients. You'll care for the same people each week, at the same time — so they get consistency, and you get peace of mind.

Hours Built Around You

We provide care seven days a week, 8am to 8pm. That means there's room to build a week that actually suits you.

• A few hours a week? 5 or 10 hours is a genuine option. Plenty of our team fit care around family, study or another job.
• Something steadier? 15 or 20 hours a week, on a pattern you agree at the start and keep.
• Full-time? Up to 35 hours a week.

Our busiest periods are mornings from 8am–12 and evenings from 4pm–8pm, so there's most availability in those blocks. But we run calls right through the day — if the middle of the day suits you better, say so and we'll work with it.

Once your pattern is agreed, it stays put.

Pay & Benefits

• €14.15 to €16.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
• Mileage and travel time between calls paid at 48c per mile

Need to Complete Your QQI?

If you've looked after a family member or have hands-on care experience but haven't completed QQI yet — we can help. We provide heavily subsidised QQI training in Care Skills and Care of the Elderly, and we'll support you through it.

Essentials

• Live in or near Enniscorthy
• Full driving licence and your own transport
• QQI Care Skills and Care of the Elderly, or willingness to complete them with us
