Healthcare Assistant – New Ross & Surrounding Areas

€14.15 – €16.00 per hour | Mileage & Travel Time Paid at 48c Per Mile | 5 to 35 Hours a Week

Bluebird Care is expanding our home care team in New Ross and the surrounding areas. Whether you've just finished your QQI modules or you're an experienced HCA ready for a fresh start, this is a chance to build a career that works around your life.

What You'll Do

You'll support clients in their own homes with:

• Personal care (washing, dressing, toileting)
• Light household tasks and meal preparation
• Companionship and emotional support
• Safe mobility and routine assistance

Each day, you'll help someone stay in the place they love most — their home — with dignity and comfort.

Hours Built Around You

We provide care seven days a week, 8am to 8pm. That means there's room to build a week that actually suits you.

• A few hours a week? 5 or 10 hours is a genuine option. Plenty of our team fit care around family, study or another job.
• Something steadier? 15 or 20 hours a week, on a pattern you agree at the start and keep.
• Full-time? Up to 35 hours a week.

Our busiest periods are mornings from 8am–12 and evenings from 4pm–8pm, so there's most availability in those blocks. But we run calls right through the day — if the middle of the day suits you better, say so and we'll work with it.

Once your schedule is agreed, it stays consistent. Same times, same clients, every week. Reliability for our clients, predictability for you.

Pay & Benefits

• €14.15 to €16.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
• Mileage and travel time between calls paid at 48c per mile
• Full initial and ongoing training
• A local support team you can actually reach

Not Fully Qualified Yet?

If you have relevant experience — including caring for a loved one — but haven't completed QQI yet, we can help. We offer subsidised QQI training in Care Skills and Care of the Elderly, and we'll guide you through it.

• Based in New Ross or the surrounding areas
• Full driving licence and your own car
• QQI Care Skills and Care of the Elderly, or willingness to complete them with us
