Healthcare Assistant – Children with Disabilities

Bluebird Care Dublin South West is seeking compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Healthcare Assistants to join our growing team supporting children with disabilities in their own homes and communities.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families by delivering person-centred care that promotes independence, dignity, and inclusion.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, person-centred care to children with disabilities in accordance with individual care plans.
  • Support children with activities of daily living, personal care, and mobility where required.
  • Assist with social, educational, and recreational activities to encourage development and participation.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children and their families.
  • Monitor and report any changes in the child's health, wellbeing, or behaviour.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all Bluebird Care policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for each child.


Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children with special needs and/or disabilities is essential.
  • Two healthcare modules or currently working towards completion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A caring, patient, and compassionate approach to supporting children and their families.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
