Advanced Healthcare Assistant – Full-Time Role

At Bluebird Care Limerick, we are growing our team and are seeking experienced, compassionate, and dedicated Advanced Healthcare Assistants to provide exceptional care and support to clients in their own homes.

Key Responsibilities

· Deliver high quality personal care and support tailored to individual client needs

· Assist with personal hygiene, mobility, nutrition, medication prompting, daily social and living activities

· Support clients to maintain independence and dignity within their own homes

· Monitor, record, and report changes in clients’ physical, emotional, and social wellbeing

· Maintain accurate care records and documentation

· Liaise effectively with care managers, nurses, family members, and other healthcare professionals

· Promote and maintain a safe, respectful, and person centred care environment

· Act as a role model for best practice and support the development of new care staff where appropriate

·        Shadow new hires and assist with practical induction support

·        Demonstrate best practice during care delivery

·        Provide guidance and encouragement to less experienced carers

·        Assist with competency observations and feedback

·        Support positive communication between carers and the office team

·        Help identify additional training or support needs

·        Promote company values, policies, and care standards

·        Support clients with more complex care requirements where needed

·        Escalate concerns appropriately to supervisors or management

·        Monitoring PPE and infection control standards

·        Observing moving & handling techniques

·        Supporting new client starts



Requirements

Essential


QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support, or an Equivalent recognised qualification.

· Minimum 3 years' experience in Home Care or advanced carer role

· Full Availability

· Minimum 3 years' professional experience in home care, community care, residential care, or a healthcare setting

· Full Valid EU/EEA Licence, clean driving licence

· Access to own Car

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong clinical awareness

· Reliability, attendance and Punctuality

· Willing to improve practice and ability to represent company values in the workplace
