Paediatric Nurses - Kells Area

Bluebird Care are currently recruiting experienced and compassionate Paediatric Nurses to provide specialist homecare support for a 10-year-old child with complex healthcare needs in the Kells/Carlanstown area of Co. Meath.

This role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality, one-to-one nursing care within a home setting while supporting a child and family to remain safely and comfortably at home.

Hours:

• 4 Midweek Night Shifts Per Week
• 8 Hour Shifts
• Approx. 32 Hours Per Week

Benefits:

• Monday - Saturday €35 per hour
• Sunday €50 per hour

About the Role:

• The child requires overnight nursing support due to complex neurological and respiratory care needs including:
• Lennox Gastaut Syndrome
• Refractory Epilepsy with Frequent Nocturnal Seizures
• High Aspiration Risk
• Medication Administration
• Nebuliser Management
• Oral Suctioning
• Respiratory Monitoring
• Pending Gastrostomy Care
• Mobility Difficulties & High Falls Risk
• The successful nurse will work closely with the family, HSE teams and Bluebird Care clinical management to provide safe, person-centred care in the family home.

Responsibilities

• Seizure management and monitoring
• Medication administration
• Nebuliser therapy management
• Gentle oral suctioning
• Monitoring for signs of respiratory distress
• Supporting feeding and aspiration precautions
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation
• Developing and implementing individualised care plans
• Liaising with family members and multidisciplinary teams
• Delivering safe, evidence-based paediatric nursing care

Essential Requirements

• Active NMBI Registration
• RCN / RGN / RNID Qualification
• Experience caring for children with epilepsy and complex healthcare needs
• Experience in homecare and/or acute paediatric settings
• Competency in respiratory care and suctioning
• Excellent clinical assessment and communication skills
• Ability to work independently within a homecare environment
• Full clean driving licence and own transport essential due to rural location
• Full right to work in Ireland
