Description Health Care Assistant The purpose of this role is to support our clients with all aspects of their day-to-day living. You will provide care in the client’s home and it is essential that all services are delivered in a safe, compassionate and caring manner. Your duties: Providing personal care, toileting, meal preparation, moving and transferring, Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and high dependency care, supervising medication, light housework/basic shopping needs. Following client’s Care Plan which is a guide that provides information on the individual character of services. Supporting social interactions and activities, providing companionship. Encouraging independence. To observe, listen, and engage with clients and maintain positive relationships with the client and the family. Be punctual and manage time effectively. Always observe confidentiality policy. Communicating with the office any changes or concerns in relation to Client needs/care. Reporting and record any incidents. Adhering to Health and Safety regulations. Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Have QQI level 5 in Healthcare with relevant modules (or equivalent) completed or in progress. Have a clean Garda Vetting Cert and International Police Clearance Cert Willing to undergo a medical examination to provide medical fitness for work cert. Have a driver’s licence and own transport and knowledge of using Google maps to find client’s homes. Are fluent in English both verbally and written. BBCLAR

Practice Supervisor

Practice Supervisor Location: Ennis, Co. Clare Role Overview The Practice Supervisor plays a key role in developing and maintaining the clinical, professional, and practical standards of Health and Social Care Assistants within Bluebird Care. This role focuses on supervision, support, quality assurance, and best practice delivery, while also providing operational and administrative support to the wider team. The Practice Supervisor does not hold formal line management responsibility and will escalate all employee relations or performance issues to the Clinical Nurse Manager or nominated deputy. Key Responsibilities Provide scheduled and unannounced practice supervision visits across a variety of care settings Supervise and support care assistants to ensure high standards of care delivery Monitor, assess, and provide feedback on care assistant performance and practice Maintain accurate supervision records, reports, and documentation Escalate any performance, behavioural, quality, or operational concerns to the CNM promptly Participate in care delivery as part of the supervision process and, in exceptional circumstances, provide direct care when required Support CNM with care plan assessments and care plan reviews Monitor staff training, compliance, and continued professional development (CPD) Ensure all policies, procedures, safeguarding requirements, GDPR, and health & safety standards are adhered to Liaise professionally with customers, family members, care coordinators, healthcare professionals, and statutory services Act as a customer advocate and safeguard the interests of customers at all times Assist with audits and ensure compliance across customer and staff files Prepare reports as required Participate in the on-call Bluebird Care emergency phone rota Operational & Administrative Support Act as backup to the Care Coordinator, with familiarity in staff rostering Assist with office administration duties as required Support the recruitment process, including onboarding and compliance checks Qualifications QQI/FETAC Level 5 Major Award in Health Care Skills (Essential) QQI Level 6 Supervisory Management (Essential or willingness to complete) Computer literacy and administrative skills (Desirable) Risk assessment knowledge (Desirable) Experience Minimum of two years’ experience in the care sector (Desirable) Core Skills & Competencies (Essential) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organisational and delegation skills Ability to teach, mentor, supervise, and support care staff High standard of record keeping and report writing Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations Professional appearance, punctuality, and attention to detail Strong customer-focused approach Clean full driving licence BBCLAR/SUP

The Role The Intellectual Disability Nurse will play a key leadership role in ensuring the highest standards of clinical care are delivered across our services. You’ll support and mentor care staff, oversee clinical governance, and work closely with clients and families to ensure care plans are tailored, safe, and effective. Key Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate all clinical aspects of home care services in the Clare region. Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop person-centred care plans. Provide clinical supervision and support to Care Supervisors and Health Care Assistants. Ensure compliance with HIQA standards and company policies. Support recruitment, induction, and ongoing training of care staff. Participate in the on-call rota as required. Liaise with multidisciplinary teams, GPs, and external agencies to promote best practice in home care delivery. Requirements Registered Nurse with NMBI (active PIN required). Minimum 2 years post-registration experience , ideally with 1 year in a supervisory role but not essential. Experience in community, elderly, or home care nursing desirable.
